In December 2020, Chrissy Teigen revealed on Instagram that she’d made the decision to become sober after one fan commented on a post joking that she needed “whatever drugs” Teigen was using. At the time, the Cravings founder replied, “4 weeks sober ???????.”
The mother-of-two later revealed she’d made the decision to stop drinking for a variety of reasons. “One month ago, on my birthday, I got this book from my doctor and friend,” Teigen shared on Instagram Stories on New Year’s Eve. “I was done making an ass of myself in front of people (I’m still embarrassed), tired of day drinking and feeling like shit by 6, not being able to sleep. I have been sober ever since.”
Attending the inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in January 2020, Teigen shared her experience being in D.C. for the historic occasion, noting that being sober only enhanced the moment with husband John Legend and their two children, Luna and Miles.
“Ran our asses up the stairs for this shot. Just incredible to be here. Sober,” she tweeted on January 20. “I know that’s weird but it’s like…a different world for me. Everything is new and better. Very happy. The most happy bigly happy.”
Miley Cyrus
In an interview with Variety on June 23, Miley Cyrus admitted that she has been sober for the past six months. The “Malibu” singer opened up about how a vocal surgery that she had in November 2019, was the catalyst for her sobriety. Her post-surgery restrictions became a lifestyle choice and Cyrus is yet to return to alcohol.
