When it comes to picking a wedding gown, many former brides-to-be come to mind. The Duchess of Cambridge’s iconic lace Alexander McQueen, Victoria Beckham’s corseted Vivienne Westwood, Priyanka Chopra’s custom Ralph Lauren, Hailey Bieber’s worded veil to Meghan Markle’s boat-necked Givenchy gown. Brides gone by have certainly paved the way for modern inspiration – whether it be traditional or unconventional.
But, some of Australia’s own have also made their mark on bridal inspiration. Aussie model Nicole Trunfio reminded us just how inspirational they can be, sharing the story of her unique white rose wedding bouquet. Others like Jesinta Franklin and Lisa Oraglassio confirmed that putting yourself into your bridal inspiration can create some sartorial magic.
Below, we’ve rounded up 7 of the most iconic Australian celebrity wedding gowns. Who knows, maybe it’ll spark some much-needed inspiration (or, sometimes they’re just fun to look at). Below, Miranda Kerr, Anna Heinrich and more.

Nicole Trunfio
Australian model Nicole Trunfio wed Texan musician Gary Clark Jr. in 2016, and while we saw her gown following the stunning Palm Springs ceremony, the star shared an even closer glimpse to Instagram. Trunfio even shared the reasoning behind her one flower bouquet.
She wrote, “on my way to walk down the aisle……in my dream dress. I went with 1 single rose, with the thorns and the leaves still on it, a non-traditional choice, but I needed to follow my heart (have you ever seen anyone choose 1 flower instead of a bouquet?) everyone was trying to convince me to take the large bouquet that had been made for me, but I felt like the single rose, was unexpected, undone, imperfect, raw and multilayered, effortless, and had more meaning and symbolism to me than a made-up bouquet which felt contrived…….. the single rose also felt more “Italian” @dolcegabbana vibes ? it gave me “La Dolce Vita” vibes, all I needed was a ? to put in my garter ?.”
The bride wore a Steven Khalil with Sophie Webster shoes. The couple now shares three children – Zion, Gia and Ella.
Jesinta Franklin
Back in November 2016, Jesinta Franklin (née Campbell) and AFL star Lance Franklin wed in a fairytale-worthy ceremony held in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales. For her nuptials, Jesinta wore not one but two custom-made gowns designed by Vera Wang, a fitted mermaid-style gown as well as a romantic corseted tulle gown. The tulle gown alone is said to be worth an estimated $20,000.
The couple now shares daughter, Tallulah, who they welcomed in February 2020.

Miranda Kerr wed Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel in 2017 and has since shared many stunning pictures of her incredible custom-made Dior gown. Dior’s artistic director Maria Grazia Chiuri Kerr was entrusted with her dream dress: a long-sleeved, high-necked satin gown with appliquéd lilies and matching headpiece.
While there was no bridal party – and less than 50 guests – Kerr’s 8-year-old son Flynn from her previous relationship with Orlando Bloom was there by his mum’s side as ring bearer. Kerr and Spiegel now have two sons, Hart and Myles.

For the reception, she wore a custom white velvet Oscar de la Renta dress, then a white satin dress by Dion Lee for the after-party. The Oscar de la Renta dress was a recreation of Brie Larson’s 2017 Academy Awards black velvet gown.
