Rihanna has walked the Met Gala red carpet and while she didn’t appear with her long-time partner – and this year’s co-host A$AP Rocky – she did make quite the entrance revealing she is pregnant with her third baby. She debuted her baby bump outside the Carlyle Hotel – in a Miu Miu crop top, no less – complete with rainy photoshoot on the streets of New York.
The “Umbrella” singer’s pregnancy is her third, with the new addition set to join Rihanna and A$AP’s eldest – brothers Rza, 2 and Riot, 1.
Letting her baby bump become the star of the show, a pregnant Rihanna emerged from her car in a long-sleeved ribbed top and matching skirt, with a set of striking grey heels and complementary knee-high socks.
Moments before the 2025 Met Gala red carpet, Rihanna chose to debut the news true super star fashion – proving no one does a pregnancy announcement quite like her.
As news circulated online of her third pregnancy, Rihanna was, of course, undergoing a dramatic outfit change. And, just when fans thought the Met Gala red carpet was over, Rihanna appeared with bump on full display.
The suit-inspired dress from designer Marc Jacobs fit perfectly with theme of the evening featuring pinstripe detail, boned corset and sharp collar and polka dot cravat.
Speaking to interviewers on the red carpet, co-chair A$AP Rocky was all smiles, confirming the news that the couples third child is well and truly on the way.
When asked about what we could expect to see Rihanna wearing tonight, he answered cheekily “I don’t know, just whatever don’t really cover her baby hump,” before grinning from ear to ear and walking away. Truly diabolical behaviour from the star, and we love it.
While we’re yet to see her full red carpet look, if her past appearances are anything to go by, we know we’re in for a sartorial treat.
The famed singer, who performed at the 2023 SuperBowl while pregnant with her second bundle of joy, also, debuted her first pregnancy with a series of pictures that showed the star walking through New York City in a bright pink vintage Chanel jacket (from the brand’s Autumn / Winter 1996 collection, no less) and low-cut jeans, revealing her bare baby bump in full.
While a “Rihanna pregnant” headline wasn’t on our Met Gala 2025 bingo card, her previous comments about motherhood always hinted that another baby could be on the horizon for the fashionable couple.
“Listen, I’m down for whatever,” she said. “My wish would be I would like to have more kids but whatever God wants for me, I’m here. I’m open. Girl, boy. Whatever.”
She also opened up about giving birth to her first son in a February 2023 interview with British Vogue, revealing: “”It was beautiful. I cannot believe it. Essentially, from one person I became two. You walk into the hospital as a couple and leave as a family of three. It’s nuts.”
Now, with news that Rihanna is pregnant with her third child, all eyes will be on the Met Gala red carpet to see how the mother-to-be styles her most important accessory.
