Gypsy Rose Blanchard is pregnant.
The 32-year-old announced the news via Youtube and Instagram, where she shared a series of pictures of herself and boyfriend Ken Urker with the ultrasound scans and a baby jumper with the word ‘hi’ printed on it.
On Instagram, Gypsy Rose wrote, “we are proud to announce we are expecting our first child in January 2025? announcement video on YouTube.” while the Youtube video was titled, “I’m Pregnant, My Journey So Far”.
It’s fair to say that life has moved pretty quickly for Gypsy Rose, who was only released from prison seven months ago.
Gypsy Rose served seven years behind in prison after pleading guilty to the second-degree murder of her mother, who was killed by Gypsy Rose’s online boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn.
The case made headlines after it was revealed that Gypsy Rose’s mother, Dee Dee, had Munchausen syndrome by proxy and made her daughter believe she was seriously unwell for years. Gypsy Rose spent the majority of her childhood and teenage-hood as a prisoner in her mother’s home, hooked up to feeding tubes and using a wheelchair.
Gypsy’s pregnancy news comes three months after filing for divorce from then-husband Ryan Anderson, who she met and married while still in prison.
Urker and Gypsy Rose connected through her prison’s pen pal program and became engaged in 2018. Their engagement ended in 2019 before the couple reconnected following Gypsy Rose’s seperation from Anderson in 2024.
In her Youtube video Gypsy Rose shared that her pregnancy experience had already changed her.
“Suddenly, it’s not about you,” she explained on Youtube. “It’s not about anything other than the tiny little life that’s inside you, that you are now in charge of protecting.”
“That little tiny life is a baby, a little tiny human that’s yours, that you have to make sure you protect, you love, you take care of.
“All of the things I wished I could have had when I was little. … All of the things that I wanted in a mother, I want to give to this baby.
“I just want to be a good mother for my child, I want to be everything my mother wasn’t.”
