It was just another night out for Ottawa teenager Mahri Smith and her friends when they met an elderly woman in a casino bathroom.
The girls had been taking a selfie when the lady complimented them on their outfits and offered to take the photo.
“This lady in the washroom looking at me said “I remember when my girlfriends and I would get dressed up and go out, I miss that,” Mahri tweeted. “So I said, why miss it, we’re all out right now aren’t we? Story short we have a new friends [sic].”
Cue a series of selfies starring the unlikely group, which quickly went viral after Mahri tweeted them.
Her post had already been retweeted over 73,000 times within 48 hours of posting, attracting hundreds of comments since Sunday.
The girls told Ottawa News that they never found out the woman’s name and wish they could tell her she’s gone viral. “It would be really nice to track this lady down and get to know her, and let her know, look you’re internet famous right now,” Mahri’s friend Morgan Sheppard said.
