According to court documents, Hoehn allegedly told police that he saw Crews cleaning up blood in the bathroom when he came home on August 19. Crews was allegedly holding a newborn girl and told him: “This is our baby, this is our family,” Fox News reports.

But Crews allegedly informed detectives that she had invited Savanna over to her apartment to teach her how to self-induce the baby. According to Crews, Savanna returned two days later and gave her the baby infant.

The pair have been charged with conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to commit kidnapping and false information.

Chief Dave Todd said police were unable to determine who the baby’s mother was, or any details about two people being questioned, CBS News reports.

“At this point in time, we are not able to confirm if the newborn is Savanna Greywind’s child or not,” he said in an update on Facebook.

“We do not have information that tells us where Savanna Greywind is,” Todd added.

Savanna’s mother, Norberta LaFontaine-Greywind, told Forum News Service that a woman living in their apartment building had allegedly knocked on their door and asked if Savanna would help model a dress she was sewing.

Savanna reportedly left the apartment but didn’t return.

“I immediately knew something was wrong because [my daughter’s] car is here,” Norberta explained. “She’s eight months pregnant. Her feet were swollen so she wouldn’t have taken up walking like that. There was pizza here that she hadn’t eaten. She would not just leave that lady’s apartment and go somewhere.”
