Sam Frost has been very open about her mental health in the past, but she recently revealed that after her split with Sasha and an onslaught of online trolls, she hit ‘breaking point’.
She spoke to the Sunday Herald about the ‘very dark place’ she was left in, and how she overcame it.
“I reached breaking point last year. I was like oh my goodness I am really, really struggling with my mental health,’’ Frost said.
“The trolls and the criticism were relentless. I just thought I am a good person, I am a wonderful friend, I am a wonderful sister and I work hard and I am grounded, I don’t understand why people are being so horrible to me.”

She said that she has been going to weekly visits with a psychologist, which has helped her get back on track and leading a happier life.
“I did research, I think it is really important to find the right psychologist, then I met this phenomenal, phenomenal lady and I could tell she got me straight away.
“I started seeing her and I’ve seen her every week since. It is expensive but it is worth it. It costs me a bloody fortune.
“It has definitely made me have a different attitude towards 2017. I am like I need to own my space, keep moving forward and try and not let the little stuff bug me.
“Now I kind of think anyone who writes those things to me, it is actually a problem they have with themselves and not with me.’’
She also found solace in Melbourne, where she has spent a lot of time with her family and friends, which helped her heal.
Unfortunately, she is still facing a lot of hate from trolls, who often make comments about her appearance and her weight. But she has a strategy that has helped her ignore them.
“I still cop it from time to time, people are constantly talking about my weight fluctuating, how boring,” she said.
“It is the same cycle, sometimes I gain weight, sometimes I lose weight. Sometimes if I am eating food with a lot of sugar my face gets puffier, if I am eating really healthy and eating lean my face gets skinner. It is what it is. I don’t know what else to say about it.”
She added that she’s realised that the people writing awful things about her often have a problem with themselves, not with her. She’s since deleted her Facebook page and her Twitter page, sticking to Instagram because she finds it more manageable.
Sam Frost recently announced that she will be appearing on Hell’s Kitchen, which she thinks will be ‘really fun’. As for dating shows, she says it’s the end of that chapter for now.
“At the moment I am not dating anyone, I am not even talking to anyone, I am just sort of doing me for a little while and focusing on my work.’’
