Elle Woods is the movie character who keeps on giving. Smashing the beauty versus brains stereotype, she was really out there doing the most in 2003.
While sometimes we wonder if our love for her borders on the obsessive, we take comfort in knowing that Reese Witherspoon herself loves the character just as much. In fact, Reese is always the first one to share a throwback, meme or rare snap from her time as Elle.
In case you really wanted to feel old, today actually marks the 20th anniversary since *Legally Blonde’s* release, which is somewhat of a major milestone. Unsurprisingly, cast members are seizing the opportunity to take a trip down memory lane, sharing incredibly rare, behind-the-scenes photos from the movie.
Among them, none other than Reese herself. From the iconic bend and snap moment to Elle rollerblading around campus, there’s no shortage of sweet memories to celebrate the occasion.
Reese captioned the photos:
“Omigod you guys ….#LegallyBlonde premiered 20 years ago TODAY! Time flies when you’re busy using legal jargon in your every day life. ? But truly… playing Elle Woods was the role of a life time and I’m so honored to have been a part of sharing her story with you all. Every meme, graduation cap, musical number, halloween costume and bend & snap has brought me so much JOY over these past two decades! ? I wonder… what will Elle do next?” the caption read.
Selma Blair has also jumped on board the nostalgia train, sharing her own sweet snaps from her time on set.
“This was a time before cameras on phones. I walked around with a tiny vintage camera but never remembered to take many. I was too busy hanging out with Matt Davis talking in my trailer, or watching Reese work. I made lifetime friends. Fell on my face impersonating Billy Elliot. Right after the group shot. Where I am standing on my toes. Trying to be taller. While Reese was inside… on set working. Making Elle Woods. ? I love you all,” the actress wrote.
As for the [third instalment](https://www.elle.com.au/culture/legally-blonde-3-20655|target=”_blank”) of the Elle Woods story, we say bring on 2022!
