With reports that Prince Harry met Meghan Markle’s father on his most recent trip to Canada, it would seem this royal romance is starting to get serious.
And now the director of her upcoming film Anti-Social, Reg Traviss, has weighed in on the budding relationship, saying the couple “make sense”.
The film was shot in 2013-2014 (so long before Meghan and Harry were a couple), however when Traviss heard they were dating he thought that “sort of makes sense”, not in small part due to their shared passion for charity work.
“It struck me at the time that she is an actress but her passion is charity, that kind of stuff,” the director, who worked with the Suits star on her upcoming film Anti-Social, tells People.
“From what I can gather she knows a lot of people in London.”
He also gushed about Meghan’s skills on set, describing her as the type of actor who “hits their marks all the time, never fluffs a line and gets a script straight away.”
“She’s a very good actress — very, very professional and really well-trained. She can definitely lead a film – be it in an independent film like I work in or a Hollywood film — there’s no two ways about that.”
The pair seem to be getting serious, with Meghan’s half brother Thomas Markle Jr telling the Mail Online that Harry has the tick of approval from their father.
“He’s pretty happy about Harry and he’s extremely proud of her,” says Markl Jr.
“They [Meghan and her father] have an amazing relationship, they’re very close and they always have been. She’s obviously happy because if she wasn’t happy, she wouldn’t be there.”
“I think it is wonderful,” he added. “As long as he takes care of and loves Meg, he doesn’t have to do anything else … he looks like a genuinely good man, and he was in the services as well. He looks happy, he looks like he’s stress-free and like he could be a good guy for Meg.”
