Mexico City Metro are doing their part to combat sexual harassment, and well they’ve certainly got people talking.
In a new video for their campaign, men (because the seat is reserved for men only) can be seen sitting on the chair (which is in the shape of a man’s chest and groin), some without realising where they are sitting, before getting a rude shock and jumping up.
Others continue to sit but cover the protruding appendage up with their jackets.
The campaign aims to raise awareness for sexual violence and show men just how uncomfortable it is to be sexually harassed.
“It’s uncomfortable to sit here but it doesn’t compare with the sexual violence that women suffer in their everyday lives,” reads the sign next to the seat.
“9 out of 10 women in Mexico City have been victims of some form of sexual violence.”
