Matty Johnson is your new Bachelor, Australia!
Johnson, 29, will return for a second chance at love after capturing the hearts of Australia on Georgia Love’s season of The Bachelorette, Network Ten has officially confirmed.
Network Ten has revealed that the Sydney marketing professional and model has taken time to heal from his heartbreak, following his rejection from Love in favour of Lee Elliot, and is now ready to find the love of his life.
“I feel so privileged that I’ve been given the opportunity to be The Bachelor,” Johnson said. “Without question, the most exciting part is the chance to meet the girl I’m going to spend the rest of my life with.”
Johnson is looking for a “kind, intelligent, easy-going woman who shares his passion for the outdoors and the ocean.”
Fans of the series would know that Johnson is a very family orientated man. Being one of five siblings and a proud uncle to his sister’s first child George, he is eager to start a family of his own.
“I’m so excited about the prospect of settling down. Timing is such a crucial factor when it comes to making this commitment and I know wholeheartedly, that there’s nothing I want more,” Johnson said.
Executive Producer of The Bachelor Australia, Hilary Innes, said: “Viewers loved Matty because he was charming, fun and absolutely genuine. We are delighted to welcome him back as our new Bachelor and can’t wait for Australia to join him on his quest.”
