Following Lisa Wilkinson’s shock departure from the Today Show after 10 years as host, Channel Nine have been frantically trying to fill her position alongside Karl Stefanovic.
This morning, reports seemed to confirm that former Today newsreader Georgie Gardner is set to take the job, despite denying she was considering the role earlier this month.
Fairfax is reporting that the official announcement will be made later this week but that Gardner is only doing four mornings.
It’s expected the other weekday spot will be filled by Weekend Today presenter Deb Knight.
Wilkinson announced her departure from the show on October 16 before revealing she would be joining Channel Ten as host of The Project.
It’s widely rumoured she quit Today due to being paid less than her male counterpart.
