We’ve learnt a lot about Jennifer Lawrence while she’s been on the promotional trail for her chilling psychological horror film mother!, from how Keeping Up With The Kardashians cheers her up, to how her horse died during a cheerleading competition.
This time, Lawrence appeared on Late Night With Seth Meyers to recount how she got into a “real bar fight” while shooting a film in Budapest. The incident began when a rude fan demanded a selfie.
“I was drunk, which is rare,” she explained.
“This guy asked me for a selfie and I was like, ‘No. Thank you. No.’ He was like, ‘Please! My girlfriend will never believe me.’ My friend was like, ‘If your girlfriend won’t believe you then she’s not The One.'”
When the man ignored her request and verbally abused her, Lawrence snapped.
“Something in me just snapped, it couldn’t have been the alcohol, and I was like, ‘Did you just say f**k you to me? Did you just say fuck you to me?!’ And I grabbed him, and I took beers, and started dousing them all over him.”
She also poured beer on the man’s luggage.
“I was like, ‘Is that your shit?’ And I started pouring beers all over his suitcase.”
But when her friend pointed out she was wasting beer, she suddenly stopped.
“I was like, ‘Of course, what was I thinking?'” she said.
While some fans have praised Lawrence for sharing the relatable antics, other commenters on YouTube pointed out that her actions might have equated to assault
“So in other words she drunkenly assaulted someone in a bar and everyone clapped,” one user wrote. Another added, “She essentially admitted to assaulting another human being”.
