Emma Stone is an incredibly talented actress – she has blown audiences away with her performances in Crazy, Stupid, Love and more recently La La Land. But it seems that we haven’t even seen her full genius on the screen, as directors have apparently taken jokes she’s improvised away from her.
The actress opened up in a recent interview with Rolling Stone, she revealed the frustrations of having her ideas rejected, then used elsewhere.

“There are times in the past, making a movie, when I’ve been told that I’m hindering the process by bringing up an opinion or an idea,” she said.
She says that it is a constant struggle to be heard in the industry.
“I hesitate to make it about being a woman, but there have been times when I’ve improvised, they’ve laughed at my joke and then given it to my male co-star. Given my joke away!
“Or it’s been me saying, ‘I really don’t think this line is gonna work,’ and being told, ‘Just say it, just say it, if it doesn’t work we’ll cut it out’ – and they didn’t cut it out, and it really didn’t work!”

Despite these struggles, her performance in La La Land is truly phenomenal, and could put her in good stead for an Oscar. Hopefully her ideas will be taken just as seriously soon.
