A former contestant on The Apprentice who accused Donald Trump of sexually assaulting her has subpoenaed his campaign for “all documents concerning any woman who asserted that Donald J. Trump touched her inappropriately”.
As Buzzfeed first reported, the subpoena was issued by Summer Zervos’ lawyers in March. Ms Zervos accused Trump of kissing her and grabbing her breast in 2007 when she visited his bungalow at the Beverly Hills Hotel to discuss a job opportunity. The Apprentice contestant voiced the allegations at a news conference in October last year.
The subpoena seeks “all documents concerning any accusations that were made during Donald J. Trump’s election campaign for president, that he subjected any woman to unwanted sexual touching and/or sexually inappropriate behavior.”
At least ten women who have accused Trump of groping them are named, including Jessica Leeds, Mindy McGillivray, Rachel Crooks, Natasha Stoynoff, Temple Taggart, Kristin Anderson, Cathy Heller, Jill Harth, and Jessica Drake.
The subpoena is part of a defamation lawsuit Zervos filed against Trump after he called her allegations “lies, lies, lies,” NBC News reports.
Trump’s attorneys have claimed the suit “has no legal merit,” and were “fame-seeking accusations”.
