She spoke with co-host Waleed Aly for The Daily Telegraph over the weekend, and began to cry as she admitted to longing for the day when the cancer that took her husband, Greg Lange, would be cured.

“If you’d asked me as a little girl what I thought my life would be like, I would never have thought [starts to cry], I would never have thought it would be anything that it has been.”

“You’ve made me bloody cry,” she added.

Waleed quickly apologised and Bickmore later revealed she tries not to reflect on the tragedy because it makes her upset.

Lange tragically lost his battle with brain cancer in 2010, and Carrie Bickmore has since started Beanies 4 Brain Cancer, a charity to raise money for a cure.

Waleed Aly conducted the interview with Carrie Bickmore as part of celebrations for The Project’s 2000th episode.
