Anna Faris has finally opened up about the cheating rumours surrounding her ex-husband Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence.
In her new memoir, Unqualified, Faris reveals that the press surrounding the Passengers co-stars affected her, even though nothing was going on.
Faris says that prior to the film’s release, she was warned that romance rumours about her husband and Lawrence were inevitable. “Before [Pratt and Lawrence] met in person, my publicist, out of the blue, pulled me aside.”
“‘Anna, listen there are going to be paparazzi all over them,’ she said. ‘There are going to be shots of them laughing together on their way to set. There are going to be stories circulating, and you have to brace yourself for this.'”
Faris says she “didn’t think it would bother” her, considering Pratt had worked with several other beautiful leading ladies before, but that she found, in the end, she “couldn’t block them out.”
“The coverage, even though it was false rumours, was making me feel insecure,” she wrote, saying the reports were “totally hurtful.”
Faris says that Lawrence apologised to her about the rumours and that the two get along.
“Jennifer and I are really friendly, and she was apologetic even though she didn’t need to be because she hadn’t done anything wrong,” Faris revealed.
“She’s awesome,” she continued. “But of course it’s hurtful and also embarrassing when people are saying your husband is cheating on you – even if it’s patently untrue. You still feel and look like a fool.”
Faris and Pratt announced their separation in August, after eight years of marriage.
