In the best news we’ve heard all week: Alanis Morissette has announced she’s bringing back the ultimate ’90s album Jagged Little Pill.
But this isn’t just any ol’ album revival, the singer has turned every twenty and thirtysomething’s favourite breakup album into a musical.
That’s right, hits like ‘Ironic’, ‘You Oughta Know’ and ‘Hand In My Pocket’ are heading to the stage, meaning we get to relive those angsty teenage years in the best possible way.
“This team that has come together for this Jagged Little Pill musical is my musical theater dream come true,” Morissette said in a statement.
“The chemistry between all of us is crackling and I feel honored to be diving into these songs again, surrounded by all of this searing talent. Diablo and Diane are already taking these deeply personal songs that are part of my soul’s marrow to a whole other level of hope, freedom, and complexity.”
The Broadway-bound production set to debut at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in May 2018, but we’re hoping if we kick up enough fuss she just might make it a world tour.
Now please excuse us while we start blasting ‘Ironic’ in the office focus on our work.
