Over the weekend everyone from Amber Heard to Chris Hemsworth’s wife Elsa Pataky headed to sunny Byron Bay for Australia’s biggest music festival, Splendour in the Grass.
While the fun may be over and done with for another year, we’re still lusting over the crazy amount of on point festival style the three-day winter music festival provided – and, more importantly, trying to figure out how the slew of models, influencers and celebrities managed to look so incredibly fresh the whole way through.
To get you prepped for this time next year, Anna Feller, Australian model and blogger behind Wilder, who attended SITG as part of Samsung’s #ToTheMakers campaign, breaks down how to attend a festival (and look good while doing it.)
What would you say are the most essential items to pack for a festival?
Good crew of friends, a warm jacket that pairs easily with multiple looks and eight-hour cream.
What was your personal favourite outfit of the weekend?
Pink Kate Moss by Equipment shirt, rust MiH denim, very old (practically vintage) Ksubi boots, vintage fur from Chasing Unicorns, Jerome Dreyfuss bobi bag, jewels and sunnies from Lucy Folk.
What fashion trends did you see at the festival that you liked?
Lil Yachty and his crew had great style, plus there were lots of good vintage boots.
Outfit wise, what would you say are fail safe festival combos?
Layer pants, slip dresses, cashmere a good coat and comfortable boots or sneakers to walk around in.
What’s the most important thing to think of when picking a festival outfit?
Definitely warmth and comfort – we would have been lost without it at SITG!
Do you have one item that always travels everywhere with you?
Cashmere PJs to jump into when I return back to the hotel.
Did you opt for gumboots or did you find that shoes were fine?
I had been watching the weather so knew it would be fine, we were very blessed with the Byron weather. By day three it was a bit muddy up there but nothing too serious!
Are there any celebrities or models you look to for festival style inspo?
Winter festivals are always a bit more challenging as you need to prepare for when the temp drops. Kate Moss and Camille Rowe always look great. They keep it simple and comfortable. It’s about the music!
What are your beauty tips for remaining fresh at a festival? Do you have any skincare secrets you swear by?
A thick face cream( I use La Mer), eye drops, eight-hour cream for lips, eye brows and cheek bones, a small pack of organic travel wipes and a good under eye pen.
