Did you see Bella Hadid this weekend? We wouldn’t be surprised if you missed her, with the model dressing in head-to-toe camouflage on Saturday night to celebrate her boyfriend, The Weeknd’s 29th birthday.
Indistinguishable from the jungle-themed backdrop of the party, Hadid and The Weeknd proved once and for all that they know how to couple dress, turning up to the base camp-themed party in matching camo: Hadid in a bra-skirt combination and The Weeknd in full army greens.
Apart from being a serious fancy dress moment, Hadid’s outfit is giving us early 2000s vibes, a la Destiny’s Child in Survivor or Avril Lavigne at the 2002 VMAs. Complete with hoop earrings, clip on chains and sheer Prada ankle socks, Hadid has turned a costume into a throwback, trend-making pop culture occasion. And just like she’s done for an array of other 2000s trends before it — baguette bags, low rise jeans, neon — Hadid makes camo look like the chic pattern we all need to adopt.
Posting to Instagram, Hadid called The Weeknd’s birthday her “favourite” day of the year, and the couple shared a number of sweet snaps showing off their costume.
Inside, the couple couldn’t keep their hands off each other, dancing and enjoying the party, looking very much in love.
Is it just us, or do you feel like buying some camo pants now, too?
