A YouTube star has died after being shot in the chest by his pregnant girlfriend in a prank gone wrong.
Pedro Ruiz III reportedly held a hardcover encyclopedia in front of his chest, while his pregnant girlfriend MonaLisa Perez shot at it with a .50-calibre Desert Eagle gun.
“Me and Pedro are probably going to shoot one of the most dangerous videos ever. HIS idea not MINE,” Perez wrote prior to the stunt.
This morning, 19-year-old MonaLisa was charged with second-degree manslaughter for the death of 22-year-old Pedro, The Star Tribune reports.
“They were in love. It was just a prank gone wrong,” Pedro’s aunty told the Twin Cities Pioneer Press.
“He told me he had an idea. I said, ‘Don’t do it, don’t do it. Why are you going to use a gun, why?’” Ms Ruiz told Valley News Live. “’Because we want more viewers’, he said.”
“I wish they wouldn’t have done it. I wish he would’ve just done another prank. He was so young. He had so much going for himself.”
MonaLisa is currently pregnant with the couple’s second child. Their 3-year-old daughter was in the room at the time of the shooting.
Around an hour before Pedro was shot, MonaLisa wroteon Facebook, “We are in the process of making Pedro a YouTube channel oh man is it going to be sweet! LOL.”
“All the crazy stuff will on his channel and mine will be our family life!!!”
